Our Vision
After over 50 years of delivering scouting adventures in Dungarvan, the 11th Waterford Scout Group has embarked on its most exciting project to date: the development of a 7.6-acre mature forest site at Mount Stuart into a purpose-built, multi-activity scout campsite.
This site will offer a unique blend of nature, adventure, and outdoor learning — not only for Dungarvan Scouts, but for groups from all over Ireland and beyond.

This will be a world-class facility for outdoor learning, creating opportunities and memories for generations to come.
Built for our Scouts, Shared with Many
Mount Stuart will become the heart of Dungarvan Scouts’ outdoor programme – a base for hiking, navigation, cycling, kayaking, and more. But the vision goes beyond our own group.
The campsite will also be open to:
- Scout Groups across Ireland
- Girl Guides and other youth groups
- Regional and national scouting competitions

With the site now secured, thanks to bank funding and years of local fundraising, we are ready to begin development. Our scouts and leaders have already put in countless hours preparing the grounds.
